Catholic Practices
Even after one’s parents die, Catholics have the practice of honoring them by going to the cemetery and praying for the repose of their souls at the graveside.
Getting Personal
Have you ever made an effort to settle old arguments by telling your family members that perhaps you see things differently now, that despite the differences you want to have a good relationship from hereon out. Don’t be embarrassed to take that step.

(4) Rain Man-(1988) Selfish yuppie Charlie Babbitt's father left a fortune to his savant brother Raymond and a pittance to Charlie; they travel cross-country.
What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993) family loyalty Gilbert has to care for his brother Arnie and his obese mother, which gets in the way when love walks into his life.
Alice Does ‘t Live Here Anymore (1974) A recently widowed woman on the road with her precocious young son, determined to make a new life for herself as a singer.
Pay it Forward (2000)
Young Trevor, troubled by his mother's alcoholism and fears of his abusive but absent father, is caught up by an intriguing assignment from his new social studies teacher, Mr. Simonet. The assignment: think of something to change the world and put it into action. Trevor conjures the notion of paying a favor not back, but forward--repaying good deeds not with payback, but with new good deeds done to three new people. Trevor's efforts to make good on his idea bring a revolution not only in the lives of himself, his mother and his physically and emotionally scarred teacher, but in those of an ever-widening circle of people completely unknown to him.
Crazy Heart (2009) impact of alcohol
Cabaret (1972) What does evil look like? Two men, one German and one American, stop at a local festival in the German countryside. A beautiful young boy stands and begins to sing "Tomorrow Belongs to Me", a hauntingly lovely ballad. One by one, other young people join him in the song. Finally, the camera pulls back and reveals the boy's Hitler Youth uniform. The charming scene becomes one of horror as we realize the evil implications of the song.
The Confession (2011) A complicated plot although it takes place within the confessional box. John Hurt.
To End All Wars (2001) takes place in a brsutal Japanese concentration camp in Burma where POW's, mainly from a Scottish regiment, must build part of the enemy's supply railroad through the ever-inhospitable jungle, and not just in terms of poor conditions, but also brutal discipline under a bushido logic which assumes Westerners to be an inferior race, in need of doggish discipline, while even for Japanese troops and Korean auxiliaries severe corporal punishment always looms. The POWs realize respect is the key, and earn some from the camp staff by taking efficient charge of the engineering challenge, and self-respect furthermore by mounting a Shakespeare play and a 'jungle university' built on the Bible and classics. Still a violent escape attempt is made, not without punishment and gruesome twist, and again as the fortune of war turns the tables...
Tuesdays with Morrie (1999) Morrie: "Death ends a life, not a relationship."
Good Will Hunting (1997) Sean to Will: "You don't know about real loss. Real loss is only possible when you love something more than you love yourself."
